Native Houstonian Mari Metzler is a sought-after makeup artist known for enhancing her client's natural beauty through flawless makeup. From education to a line of premium ingredient makeup, Mari is an innovator and visionary – inspiring others with the swipe of an ultra-pigmented lip gloss and the perfect shade of foundation. 

Childhood Obsession Turned Entrepreneurial Adventure

Mari's passion for makeup began at an early age. From applying makeup on reluctant babysitters to practicing on St. Agnes Academy classmates, she has perfected her technique over decades. After graduating from St. Edward's University and a six-year stint in the boom or bust oil and gas industry, Mari decided to follow her passion as a makeup artist. 

With only her desire to make a name for herself in a crowded industry and the goal of eventually developing her own makeup line, Mari doubled down on her knowledge of how to apply great-looking makeup and the science behind premium makeup products. She learned from the most acclaimed professionals in the industry through Masterclasses with celebrity makeup artists Mario Dedivanovic, Ash K Holm and Danessa Myricks.

After five years of learning about ingredients, cosmetic regulations and meeting with manufacturers, Mari debuted her collection of premium ingredient makeup, Makeup by Mari.
